Who we are.
The Orange County Business Committee for the Arts is a nonprofit organization committed to supporting the arts, stimulating new and increased support from the business community, and providing business with the resources and services needed to develop partnerships with the arts. The OCBCA was founded in 1981 by David S. Tappan, Jr., Chairman and CEO of Fluor Corporation; Founding Executive Director Betty R. Moss; and a group of Orange County business leaders.
"The OCBCA is an organization that puts together its corporate members with the not-for-profit arts community to help encourage increased business support of the arts in Orange County. What does that mean? As a facilitator, the most important thing that we do is to act as a matchmaker, helping to identify the needs of the arts organizations and then working as a go-between to bring these two interested parties together. This creates the synergy that results in executive board participation, project underwriting and employee volunteer opportunities. We serve business as a partner to make these things happen. As the founder of the OCBCA over 25 years ago, I’m as excited today as when I started. The times have changed, but the arts are timeless. Our members embrace this concept and work with us to strengthen the arts community."
